Where do Pure Aluminium ship to?
From our base in both Worcestershire and London, we can supply our doors to our customers throughout the UK. Please be aware that some restrictions may apply, however, if you want to ensure that we can deliver our products to your home or place of work, please feel free to contact us.
Where are your doors manufactured?
To ensure that our customers receive the best quality, we only supply products that have been manufactured in Britain.
Do Pure Aluminium survey & install their doors?
We only supply our aluminium windows and doors directly to the homeowner but work with a number of installation partners across the UK who will survey and install your products at a competitive price.
How will my doors be delivered?
Doors will always be delivered fully assembled for ease of installation for you! However, in some instances, your doors might not always fit through your house or side passageway etc.
Don’t worry, we offer a disassembly service for a small fee and can deliver your doors in kit form. Please contact our customer service team if you are unsure.
Why is made in Britain so important?
At Pure Aluminium we only supply products fabricated here, we have found that the products designed/engineered around the UK climate and with the UK homeowner requirements in mind stand the test of time.
When products are imported from overseas, they’re typically manufactured under appalling conditions and can be of subpar quality. To ensure that people are properly compensated for their labour, in factories that are safe and regulated, we only use UK manufacturers. Due to this, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint, whilst offering a high quality product to all of our customers.
Are you FENSA registered?
No, FENSA relates to the person(s) installing the doors or windows.
The Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme (FENSA) has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies in response to the building regulations. A FENSA registered fitter just means that they are self-certifying the compliance of the windows or doors with the building regulations.
What is a U-value?
Thermal transmittance, also known as a U-value, is the rate of transfer of heat through a structure, such as a window or door. When buying a new unit, it’s always best to ensure that.
How do they get delivered?
All windows and doors are generally delivered on a HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle), therefore access will always be a factor for your delivery. If we are unable to deliver directly to your home, we will be able to set up another location that is accessible nearby or refund your order, if that is your wish.
Do I need to be at home to accept my delivery?
Yes. You will need to be there to accept the delivery and sign for the products after they have been checked. We recommend a minimum of 2 able people on site to help with the delivery offloading process.
Please note there is only 1 driver to help with offloading and failure to be present will result in a re-delivery charge.
Will I be notified which day my delivery will be?
Yes. Once your order has been placed, we will notify you of your delivery within the next 5 working days. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to select which day we will deliver as deliveries are based on areas and other deliveries in that area.
If the delivery day we have provided does not work for you, please contact us within 48 hours of the delivery confirmation.
Please note this may delay your order.
What’s the difference between a pivot and hinged doors?
Our entrance doors have the option of either pivot or hinged. Compared to a traditionally hinged door that is connected to the side of the frame, a pivot fixture is fitted to the top and rotates on a vertical axis.
Is using aluminium safe for the environment?
Compared to uPVC and traditional timber, aluminium units are considerably more environmentally friendly. They’re usually nicknamed the ‘green metal’, as aluminium occurs naturally in the earth’s crust and requires less energy to produce overall. Also once it’s at the end of its use, it can be recycled indefinitely. This significantly reduces the chance of waste.
