We only supply our windows and doors directly to the homeowner but work with a number of installation partners across the UK who will survey and install your products at a competitive price.
How will my uPVC windows be delivered?
Doors will always be delivered fully assembled for ease of installation for you! However, in some instances your doors might not always fit through your house or side passageway etc..
Don’t worry, we offer a disassembly service for a small fee and can deliver your doors in kit form. Please contact our customer service team if you are unsure.
Why is made in Britain so important?
At Pure Aluminium we only supply products fabricated here, we have found that the products designed/engineered around the UK climate and with the UK homeowner requirements in mind stand the test of time.
When products are imported from overseas, they’re typically manufactured under appalling conditions and can be of a subpar quality. To ensure that people are properly compensated for their labour, in factories that are safe and regulated, we only use UK manufacturers. Due to this we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint, whilst offering a high quality product to all of our customers.
Are you FENSA registered?
No, FENSA relates to the person(s) installing the doors or windows.
The Fenestration Self-Assessment scheme (FENSA) has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies in response to the building regulations. A FENSA registered fitter just means that they are self-certifying the compliance of the windows or doors with the building regulations.
What is a U-value?
Thermal transmittance, also known as a U-value, is the rate of transfer of heat through a structure, such as a window or door. When buying a new unit, it’s always best to ensure that.
How do they get delivered?
All windows and doors are generally delivered on a HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle), therefore access will always be a factor for your delivery. If we are unable to deliver directly to your home, we will be able to set another location that is accessible nearby or refund your order, if that is your wish.
Do I need to be at home to accept my delivery?
Yes. You will need to be there to accept the delivery and sign for the products after they have been checked. We recommend a minimum of 2 able people on site to help with the delivery offloading process.
Please note there is only 1 driver to help with offloading and failure to be present will result in a re-delivery charge.
Will I be notified which day will be my delivery?
Yes. Once your order has been placed, we will notify you of your delivery within the next 5 working days. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to select which day we will deliver as deliveries are based on areas and other deliveries in that area.
If the delivery day we have provided does not work for you, please contact us within 48 hours of the delivery confirmation.
Please note this may delay your order.
How do you clean uPVC windows?
The great thing about uPVC windows is that they’re low maintenance and barely require any upkeep. On occasion you may need to clean and care for your units, which can easily be done using a damp cloth and warm soapy water. There’s no need for costly chemicals or harsh abrasives.
Are trickle vents required for uPVC windows?
In line with the new rules that came into effect on 15th June 2022, all replacement units, including uPVC windows will require a trickle vents. Usually fitted at the top of the window, these allow for fresh air to circulate naturally throughout the room whilst expelling polluted air. They’re a controllable feature that can be opened or closed whenever desired and when used correctly won’t contribute to heat loss.
What uPVC window styles are there?
To ensure that our customers have access to a wide selection, we offer a variety of different styles for our uPVC windows. Each one boasts unique stylings and functionality, whilst still being thermally efficient and low maintenance.
